  • What is HOPE Volleyball SummerFest?

    H.O.P.E. Volleyball SummerFest is the largest, one-day volleyball tournament / entertainment festival in the world!  
    Each year HOPE members vote in 5 to 7 charities which benefit from SummerFest funding. We have helped over 200 local charities and given back close to $4 million since we started in 1982!

  • When is HOPE Volleyball SummerFest?

    The annual HOPE Volleyball SummerFest takes place usually on the second Saturday in July each summer. 

  • Where does HOPE Volleyball SummerFest take place?

    At Mooney’s Bay Park & Beach - 2960 Riverside Drive at Ridgewood Avenue in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

  • Who benefits from HOPE Volleyball SummerFest?

    H.O.P.E.'s Recipient Charities are found on our charity tab, and change every Summerfest Event.

  • How can I apply to become a HOPE Recipient Charity?

    Watch the our website for the application posting in August.
    Recipient Charities are voted by the H.O.P.E. Membership after qualified charities are screened in for the vote. Last year’s application is up for review and reference at www.hopehelps.com

  • How many people play at HOPE Volleyball SummerFest?

    SummerFest attracts more than 10,000 players who participate on over 700 teams in 4 divisions that play on over 60 courts using 100 volleyballs – all in one day.

  • How many corporate teams play at HOPE Volleyball SummerFest?

    Approximately 144 Corporate Teams will participate in the Corporate Division.

  • How can I volunteer at HOPE Volleyball SummerFest?

    To volunteer, register online, go to the volunteer tab on our website and click the registration button. 

    Over 500 Volunteers will be on site to make this event happen!

  • What happens at the HOPE Volleyball SummerFest Mainstage?

    Close to 12,000 spectators will come out for sun, fun, and non-stop live Canadian entertainment at the HOPE Mainstage from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

  • Can I bring my kids to the event?

    Yes! Spectators are allowed entry to H.O.P.E. Volleyball SummerFest to watch the games free of charge. Children aged 9 and under are admitted to the concert free of charge when accompanied by a ticket-holding adult. Children aged 10 and over will need tickets for entrance in the licensed areas.

  • What time does HOPE Volleyball SummerFest start?

    Team arrivals begin at 7:00 a.m.
    Competitive Division Play begins at 8:00 a.m.
    Recreational and Corporate Divisions Play begins at 9:00 a.m.

  • What time does HOPE Volleyball SummerFest’s bars start serving alcohol?

    Bar Service begins at 11:00 a.m.

  • What CAN’T I bring onsite?

    Participants are not permitted to bring their own alcohol onsite. All bottles, coolers and bags will be checked. All alcohol will be confiscated by security.

    No knives, scissors or cutting utensils will be allowed onsite. And due to City of Ottawa Bylaws no smoking is allowed on site as well as– mammals/reptiles and avians are also NOT allowed onsite.

  • What else is there to do at HOPE Volleyball SummerFest?
    Vendor Village provides lots to see and do for spectators and participants and chances to win great prizes.
  • What’s the best way to get to HOPE Volleyball SummerFest?

    HOPE encourages participants to bicycle to the event, provides supervised parking in the onsite bike compound.

    Public Transit via OC Transpo is also encouraged.

    Ride sharing is also an option but parking is extremely limited and PAID only. HOPE is not responsible for any parking tickets incurred for parking violations in and around the site.

  • Is there parking at HOPE Volleyball SummerFest?
    There is NO parking at the Mooney’s Bay lot and those who register for Corporate teams (one parking pass per team) have first come first serve parking at the Terry Fox lot. Paid parking is available at the Marina Parking lot and free parking at the Canada Post lot. Street parking is sparse and HOPE is not responsible for any parking ticket incurred during event time.
  • Can I borrow nets from HOPE?

    Unfortunately, no. We do not lend out any of our equipment. 

  • How can I become a sponsor of HOPE?

    Take a look at all the great supporters of HOPE on the sponsor page, here on the website and contact sponsor@hopehelps.com to get more information on the various levels of sponsorship that are available.

  • How can I be a food vendor/exhibitor at HOPE Volleyball SummerFest?

    We currently have room for more vendors and exhibitors at this year's HOPE SummerFest. For more information regarding opportunities, please review the application on the Vendor Page on our website, or send an email to hopevendors@hopeottawa.com

  • When and where do I pick up my team kit?

    Teams can pick-up their kits on Friday Night before event day, from 5:30pm - 8:30pm, in the HOT lounge on the beach. Team kits are filed by the team captain's last name and can be picked up by anyone on your team (the person picking up will have to sign for those kits). Team kits will ONLY be released with ALL of WAIVERS signed by your teammates.
