Volunteer orientation is on Wednesday July 8!

Here at H.O.P.E., we couldn’t be more grateful for the volunteers that make our event possible every year – many returning friendly faces, and many new ones as well!

Of course, when it comes to our ever-growing beach festival, even veteran volunteers need a quick run-down of new information and a refresher of standard protocols for the area where they’ll be working for the day.

Volunteer orientation for Lone Star HOPE Volleyball SummerFest 2026 is on July 8 at the site of the event, Mooney’s Bay Beach! There are two sessions: one at 6:30pm and one at 7:30pm. You'll only need to come to one!

Parking volunteers must come to the 6:30 session, as there will only be one.

At this important meeting, all volunteers will get acquainted with the festival setup, receive specific instructions regarding what will be expected of them while on shift, and learn about any relevant safety and emergency procedures. We recommend wearing comfortable flat shoes for both orientation and the festival day; even if you’ll be sitting still at your station, it can be a long walk from the parking lot/the bus stop! Mooney’s Bay is a beautifully big place to host our long-running Ottawa tentpole festival.

Volunteers will receive the SummerFest Volunteer shirt to wear throughout their shift on event day itself. Just dress for the weather!
