Get to know: Shepherds of Good Hope!

What began as a small soup kitchen over forty years ago has now become one of the capital city’s most impactful providers of meals, shelter, and other support systems for the unhoused community.

Shepherds of Good Hope see approximately 250 individual volunteers every year, each contributing thousands of hours across the various programs offered.

DID YOU KNOW?
A single volunteer working a single meal service shift will often help support hundreds of people in need!

The funds raised at Lone Star HOPE Volleyball SummerFest 2026 will be going towards the aptly-named Hope Garden, which is a 7,000 square foot community garden. This volunteer-run, lovingly maintained space produces literally thousands of pounds of vegetables every year, that are then used by the chefs to provide nourishing meals to anyone and everyone who comes to the shelter.

Shepherds of Good Hope helps people in need at every step of transition, whether they need quick support in a time of emergency or long-term guidance for finding a permanent home.
