April In Review

With 2026’s Lone Star HOPE Volleyball SummerFest just a few months away, our small but mighty office team kicked off event preparation!

In the month of April, we opened up our general volunteer registration (still open!) to help out anywhere from behind the bar to keeping score on the court. It’s always a heartwarming experience to see the list of volunteers grow from the very first day of availability, and we are truly grateful for all the wonderful people who have made the event possible in the past, present, and future.

Vendor applications were also made available, and though we aren’t going to give away the fun surprise of what businesses you might find on the beach, we can say that we’re excited to have a variety of vendors this year.

In preparation-oriented news, we held our first official Planning Team meeting last month! These fine folks— some who have been with us for many years, and some brand new —are each in charge of leading their respective groups up to and including festival day. Since April 20th-26th was Volunteer Appreciation Week, we used the opportunity to feature some of the fresh faces who are taking up their duties for the very first time (you can find those on our socials)!

H.O.P.E. staff usually loves to celebrate Earth Day with a nice walk through the site of our event, but weather in the capital city was not cooperative until the next week! Sunnier days will be here before we know it, though, as the Victoria Day long weekend is just around the corner.
