Excited about who will be headlining in the Amphitheatre at HOPE Volleyball SummerFest this year?

We are, and here they are:

Hawksley Workman 5:15 pm to 6:30 pm

Delivered from the mythic Muskoka wilderness, Hawksley arrived on the scene nearly a decade ago with a fearlessness rooted in an undeniable vocal panache. This Juno Award winning wild card has already cemented his place as an emblem of Canadian culture here and abroad.

Hawksley's catalogue includes pop tunes, country jangles, anthemic rockers, hip-hop dance beats and gut-wrenching ballads, proof that Hawksley can do it all. His live show has taken him on national, European, Australian and Japanese tours, where Hawksley has made devoted fans worldwide.

Beyond his work as a recording artist, Hawksley has had a hand in shaping the next generation of Canada's favourite albums, including Polaris Short List and Juno Nominated albums with artists such as Hey Rosetta!, Sarah Slean, Serena Ryder, Tegan and Sara, Great Big Sea and Justin Rutledge.

Hollerado  3:30 pm to 4:30 pm

Hollerado's sound hits all the right buttons with its commercial appeal and critical acclaim. This band from Manotick has been touring the world over the past couple years making noise and selling 6,500 CDs of their debut album "Record In A Bag". The band toured Brazil, Argentina and China last year (The Half World Tour). The band convinced Dave Foley from "Kids In The Hall" to appear in their hilarious "Americanarama" video and their video for "Juliette" features Margot Kidder (of "Superman" fame). The celebrity nods don't stop there... The White Stripes' Jack White hand-picked them to open his Dead Weather promotional gig in Toronto last summer. The band basically invented the Residency Tour last year: a month-long tour of non-stop residency shows in seven cities, every day of the week: 28 shows in 28 days!

"Crazy-catchy melodies, raging hooks, and headbang-worthy guitar riffs seal the deal." - SPIN Magazine

The Johnstones   2:00 pm to 3:00 pm

Don't bother trying to take them to Disney Land; they're banned for life.

This statement epitomizes the essence of The Johnstones and sums up the bands' signature sound, effortlessly melding the caustic punk rock of Rancid, the frat-boy parodies of the Beastie Boys and the campy hedonism of the Scissor Sisters. This motley group made their first cross-country tour at age 17, eventually going on to cause trouble all across Canada, Europe and the US.

The Johnstones have had five music videos on MuchMusic rotation, with "Gone For A Long Time" charting on the MuchMusic Countdown for 8 weeks. As well as their success with conventional music videos, The Johnstones are equally well known for their self-produced, viral video projects. They've won countless 'Most Viewed' awards from YouTube and have garnered a huge cult following.

The Johnstones have come a long way from their roots as a young, maniacal ska band. They've evolved into a maniacal band with great songs and even better chops.

Amos The Transparent 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm

Amos The Transparent can go from six-part a cappella harmonies and handclaps to four across the front balls-out guitar rock in the flick of a pick, and that's the beauty of them. Their lush arrangements and subtle textures on their two releases, their debut album "Everything I've Forgotten To Forget" and their new EP "My, What Big Teeth You Have…", can be stripped down acoustically or turned up to ten.

The Ottawa-based band has quickly become darlings on the Canadian scene and is equally comfortable sharing a stage with The Dears, Jeff Beck or Loverboy. The band was founded by Jonathan Chandler (vocals and guitar) and drummer Christopher Wilson and includes long standing members Mark Hyne and James Nicol as well as relative newcomers Dan Hay and Kate Cooke. With a permanent line-up solidified their shows are now becoming legendary.

Ty Hall and the EZ3  11:00 am - 12:00 pm

The rock-reggae, electro-acoustic flavour of Ty Hall & The EZ3 is filling the airwaves of college radio on both sides of the border. Ty Hall and The EZ3 have been performing clubs all across Canada and literally dragging sunshine and summertime with them everywhere they go.

The group will be touring North America non-stop throughout 2010, including influential music festivals like Canadian Music Week and North by Northeast in Toronto and South by Southwest in Austin, Texas. Ty Hall was the #19 most added act on the US college charts as well as number one on many prominent US college stations.
