What is HOPE?

The HOPE Volleyball SummerFest is the largest outdoor one-day beach volleyball tournament in the world.

When and where is HOPE?

The 28th annual HOPE Volleyball SummerFest takes place Saturday July 10th, 2010 at Mooney's Bay Beach, Ottawa, Ontario.

What does HOPE do?

The HOPE Volleyball SummerFest is committed to raising money for local charities and has donated more than 3.2 million dollars to over 112 charities since its inception 28 years ago.

Who benefits from HOPE?

2010 Recipient Charities are: CHEO Foundation, The Ottawa Humane Society, Camp Quality Canada - Eastern Ontario, Shepherds of Good Hope and Operation Come Home.

How many people play at HOPE?

The HOPE Volleyball SummerFest attracts more than 10,000 players who participate on 1,032 teams in 4 divisions that play on 86 courts using 162 volleyballs - all in one day.

How many corporate teams play?

Approximately 200 Corporate Teams will participate in the Ottawa Citizen Corporate Challenge Division.

How many competitive teams play?

Approximately 200 Competitive Teams will participate in the Competitive Division.

How can I help HOPE?

Over 1,100 Volunteers will be on site to make this event happen. To volunteer, register online at www.hopehelps.com or call the OnPath HOPE Hotline at 613.742.HOPE (4673).

What about the concert?

20,000 spectators will come out for sun, fun, and non-stop live Canadian entertainment in the Amphitheatre from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

When does it start?

Team arrivals begin at 7:00 a.m. Competitive Division Play begins at 8:00 a.m. Recreational Division Play begins at 9:00 a.m.

When does the bar open?

The equivalent of 52,200 cans of Coors Light will be served. Bar Service begins at 11:00 a.m.

What else is there at HOPE?

Vendor Village provide lots to see and do for spectators and participants and chances to win great prizes.

What's the best way to get to HOPE?

HOPE encourages participants to bicycle to the event, provides supervised parking in the onsite bike compound, as well as an OC Transpo shuttle bus service to the beach from Carleton University.
